Legal
Terms of Service
Effective October 11, 2026
These Terms govern your use of tryparlance.com and the Parlance application. By creating an account, joining the beta, or using the service, you agree to them.
1. Who may use Parlance
You must be at least 18 years old and legally able to enter a contract. If you use Parlance for an organization, you represent that you are authorized to accept these Terms for that organization. You must provide accurate account information and keep your login credentials secure.
2. The service
Parlance helps users upload or import meeting recordings, create transcripts, identify speakers, generate summaries and structured analysis, organize meetings, search content, and export results. Grow adds client profiles, possible service opportunities, source-linked answers, practice rates and team workspaces. Workspace owners manage membership and subscriptions. Features may change as the service develops. Beta features may be incomplete, unavailable, or changed without notice.
3. Your recordings and content
You retain ownership of recordings, transcripts, names, edits, and other content you submit to Parlance ("Customer Content"). You grant Parlance a limited, non-exclusive licence to host, copy, transmit, format, and process Customer Content only as reasonably needed to provide, secure, support, and improve the operation of the service, comply with law, and enforce these Terms.
You represent that you have all rights, permissions, notices, and consents required to upload, import, record, transcribe, analyze, and share Customer Content. Recording and consent laws vary by location. Parlance does not determine whether your recording is lawful, and you are responsible for complying with applicable law and workplace or contractual obligations.
4. Acceptable use
You may not use Parlance to:
- break the law, violate another person's rights, or process a recording without required authority;
- upload malware or content designed to disrupt, probe, or gain unauthorized access to the service;
- harass, threaten, exploit, defraud, or unlawfully monitor another person;
- resell or provide access to the service except under a written agreement with Parlance;
- reverse engineer or bypass technical limits, except where applicable law does not permit that restriction; or
- use automated means in a way that unreasonably burdens the service.
5. AI-generated results
Opportunity estimates use illustrative starting fees or rates entered by your practice. They are planning aids and do not guarantee client demand, accepted fees or revenue. Review the source, existing service coverage and proposed scope before making an offer.
Transcripts, speaker names, summaries, topics, decisions, deadlines, and other generated results may be inaccurate, incomplete, or misleading. You must review results before relying on or sharing them. Parlance is not a substitute for the original recording or for professional legal, medical, financial, employment, or other expert advice, and it must not be used as the sole basis for a high-impact decision about a person.
6. Third-party services
Parlance relies on third-party providers for infrastructure, transcription, artificial-intelligence processing, imported links, email, forms, and payments. Their services may be subject to separate terms and may become unavailable. We are not responsible for third-party products that you choose to connect or visit independently.
7. Parlance intellectual property
Parlance and its licensors own the service, software, design, branding, and documentation, excluding Customer Content. Subject to these Terms, we grant you a limited, revocable, non-transferable right to use the service for its intended purpose. If you provide feedback, you allow us to use it without restriction or compensation, but we will not identify you publicly without permission.
8. Plans, fees, cancellation, and taxes
Grow prices are in Canadian dollars per workspace. Usage allowances reset each calendar month; storage is a total limit. Yearly subscriptions are charged in one payment. We do not apply automatic overage charges. The app shows which plans and integrations are available before purchase.
Some features may be free, metered, or offered under a paid subscription. Prices, included usage, renewal terms, and applicable taxes will be shown before purchase. Unless stated otherwise at checkout, subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled. Workspace owners can use the billing portal provided in the application to manage or cancel an available paid subscription; contact us if you need help. Cancellation stops future renewal and does not by itself refund fees already paid. You authorize the payment provider to charge the selected payment method. Except where required by law or stated at purchase, fees already paid are non-refundable.
9. Suspension and termination
You may stop using Parlance at any time and may delete individual meetings through the application. We may suspend or terminate access if you materially breach these Terms, create a security or legal risk, fail to pay applicable fees, or misuse the service. When reasonably possible, we will give notice and an opportunity to resolve the issue.
After account termination, access ends and Customer Content may be deleted in accordance with our Privacy Policy and normal backup cycles. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will continue to apply.
10. Disclaimers
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Parlance is provided "as is" and "as available." We disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, and uninterrupted or error-free operation. Nothing in these Terms excludes a warranty or right that applicable law does not allow us to exclude.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, Parlance and its suppliers will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, exemplary, or punitive damages, or for loss of profits, revenue, goodwill, data, or business opportunity. Our total liability arising from the service or these Terms will not exceed the greater of CAD $100 and the amount you paid Parlance during the 12 months before the event giving rise to the claim. These limits do not apply where prohibited by law.
12. Indemnity
If you use Parlance for a business, you will defend and indemnify Parlance against third-party claims, damages, and reasonable costs arising from your unlawful Customer Content, your failure to obtain required recording or processing consent, or your material violation of these Terms, except to the extent caused by Parlance.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable there, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. Courts located in Toronto, Ontario will have exclusive jurisdiction, except where applicable consumer law gives you the right to bring a claim elsewhere.
14. Changes and general terms
We may update these Terms as the service develops. We will post the revised version and provide additional notice for material changes when required. Continued use after the effective date means you accept the updated Terms.
If a provision is unenforceable, the remaining provisions continue in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver. You may not assign these Terms without our consent; we may assign them as part of a financing, reorganization, sale, or transfer of the service.
